When he was 14 years old, he went toBangkok to study Pali under Pra Ah Jahn Som who was a Cambodian monk at Wat Chanasongkahm. Luang Por Pae at the age of 16 years, returned to Wat Pikunthong and became a novice monk, after which he went to Wat Chaanasongkahm to further his learning in advanced Pali until the age of 22 years old. Pra Mongkontipmunee (Bangkok) was his preceptor and Phra Kru Sittidet was his Dhamma teacher.
In year BE2474 (1931), he became the abbot of Wat Pikunthong. He re-built Wat Pikunthong from an old and ruined temple to what is it today - a beautiful and well-known

Birth of Luang Phor Pae:
Luang Phor Pae was born on the first of January in 1905. At the age of 8 months, Luang Phor Pae’s mother died.
He was then adopted by his uncle. At age 11, he studied a specialized language (Pali) to help interpret Buddhist’s text.
He studied Pali under Pra Ajan Som. When Luang Phor Pae turned 14, his uncle secured a spot for him at Chanosongkram temple in the heart of Bangkok. While he was there, Pae dedicated himself to Buddhist studies.
When LP Pae was 22, he officially became a monk. Later that year he became a teacher at Chanosongkram.
Later, in 1931, the abbot of Wat Pikul retired from his position and requested that LP take his place. At the young age of 26, LP Pae became the abbot of Wat Pikul.
While there, he also helped rebuild the temple as it was quite old and had not seen extensive repairs for years. In addition to rebuilding the temple, LP Pae also housed, fed and cared for students who wished to attend the temple but who could not afford it.
Back in those days, there were plenty of young children whose parents could not afford to raise them or send them to schools.
