In 2009, FT Island debuted a sub-unit FT Triple, which consisted of members Choi Jonghun, Lee Jaejin and Choi Minhwan. They released and promoted their first single "Love Letter". Jaejin was the main vocalist and played the guitar instead of the bass while in the subunit.
